Careers and Technical Education Partnership

Careers and Technical Education Partnership

Careers and Technical Education is a pioneering way in which young people can gain skill and experiences planned around the requirements of local employers.

A Careers and Technical Education (CTE) route through education provides students with opportunities spanning primary years through to post-secondary provision to understand occupations, careers and how technical, academic and knowledge application supports education and ultimately career pathways.

Bradford District Career Technical Education (CTE) framework  is organised into 15 industry sectors.

We aim to build a highly-skilled young workforce by better preparing young people for life long learning and their transition into the labour market.

The alignment of education with business through partnership working requires regular dialogue, to understand the skills our young people need. CTE Partnership is a collaborative approach to raise aspirations of young people in the district, breaking down barriers and opening up the art of the possible.

Our businesses assist in providing a wealth of experience, in supporting the curriculum, provide intelligence, advocating and of course, engaging young people in diverse ways to help them succeed. Businesses work with the cities leading schools, colleges and university to deliver robust, industry-led learning for all young people and strengthen their talent pipeline.

Benefits to your business
• Address the skill gap and build a pipeline with the right skills to recruit your future talent
• Increase diversity within your business and in specific sectors where there's an identified skills gap
• Personal and professional development (CPD) for employees through your engagement
• Support your CSR priorities by engaging with local communities
• Increase brand awareness and raise your profile across the Bradford District

Board Employers
You can get involved at board level to develop the knowledge required in partnership with our schools. There are 9 sector boards made up of a range of employers and educators to identify the skills gap within industry. You can help shape the curriculum to sector specific pathways with your expertise and strategic guidance. As a board member you will shape pathways and engagement in schools, colleges and university by facilitating access to networks across the district.

Associate Employers
As an associate employer you can support by bringing the world of work to life, support our young people with work-based learning opportunities. You can collaborate with our educators to develop industry-based projects or provide access to practical experience to bring the world of work into the classroom.

As a local employer you can develop key competencies, skills and knowledge for our young people through mentoring or coaching opportunities or supporting them to understand sector specific skills by sharing your experiences. We have a number of opportunities tailored to your business, availability and commitment.
